Recognise and appreciate what you already have

"We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognising and appreciating what we do have.", Frederick Keonig.

We always have a list of things that we desire which may include a new house, a new car, an electronic gadget and so on.

When we anchor our happiness on getting these things we are setting ourselves to achieving happiness for short durations only. An electronic gadget will make us excited and happy for few days, a new car for few weeks, a new house for a few months and then we get used to them and start looking for something else to feel happy again.

On the contrary there are plenty of things in our life that we fail to recognise and appreciate. For a moment just look around and identify things that are part of your life already and important to you. These are the things if taken away from you will leave you feeling uncomfortable and unhappy. These things include our health, relationships as well as many materialistic things which are already part of our life. Let us make this a habit to acknowledge and appreciate these blessings. This simple habit will leave us feeling much more happier and fulfilled than before.

Let us live a happier life and spread happiness together.
